چکیده
The Super Soft Source RX J0925.7–4758 (RX J0925 hereafter) was observed by BeppoSAX LECS and MECS on January 25–26 1997. The source was clearly detected by the LECS but only marginally detected by the MECS. We apply detailed Non-Local Thermodynamic Equilibrium (Non-LTE) models including metal line opacities to the observed LECS spectrum. We test whether the X–ray spectrum of RX J0925 is consistent with that of a white dwarf and put constraints upon the effective temperature and surface gravity by considering the presence or absence of spectral features such as absorption edges and line blends in the models and the observed spectrum. We find that models with effective temperatures above ∼ 106K or below ∼ 7.5 × 105K can be excluded. If we assume a single model component for RX J0925 we observe a significant discrepancy between the model and the data above the Ne ix edge energy at 1.19 keV. This is consistent with earlier observations with ROSAT and ASCA. The only way to account for the emission above ∼ 1.2 keV is by introducing a second spectral (plasma) component. This plasma component may be explained by a shocked wind originating from the compact object or from the irradiated companion star. If we assume log g = 9 then the derived luminosity is consistent with that of a nuclear burning white dwarf at a distance of ∼ 4 kpc.

The transient jet of the galactic supersoft X - ray source RX J 0925 . 7 - 4758 ?
We report the discovery of a transient jet in the supersoft X-ray source RX J0925.7-4758. The jet was observed in the Hα line during a single night in June 1997 and had disappeared one day later. RX J0925.7-4758 is the third supersoft source to exhibit collimated outflows. The peak jet velocity of 5,200 km s−1, strongly argues in favour of a white dwarf in RX J0925.7-4758. Simple modelling of t...
متن کاملOn the secondary star of the galactic supersoft X-ray source RX J0925.7−4758 and Doppler tomography of the emission lines
We carried out optical spectroscopic observations of the galactic supersoft X-ray source RX J0925.7−4758. The relatively long orbital period among supersoft X-ray sources was confirmed. The nature of the secondary star is discussed using its invisibility in the optical spectrum. Under the hypothesis of a non-eclipsing white dwarf, we derived an A–G giant secondary with an inclination angle of 5...

We report on XMM-Newton observations of the galactic supersoft X-ray source RX J0925.7-4758. The RGS spectrum exhibits a wealth of spectral features from iron and oxygen. XMM-Newton data confirm the finding of previous Chandra HETGS/MEG observations that NLTE models of hot white dwarf atmospheres fail to represent the complex spectrum. There are clear evidences for P Cygni profiles with wind ve...
متن کاملNonparametric Spectral-Spatial Anomaly Detection
Due to abundant spectral information contained in the hyperspectral images, they are suitable data for anomalous targets detection. The use of spatial features in addition to spectral ones can improve the anomaly detection performance. An anomaly detector, called nonparametric spectral-spatial detector (NSSD), is proposed in this work which utilizes the benefits of spatial features and local st...

A comparison is made between the properties of CAL 83, CAL 87, RX J0513.9−6951, 1E 0035.4−7230 (SMC 13), RX J0019.8+2156, and RX J0925.7−4758, all supersoft X-ray binaries. Spectra with the same resolution and wavelength coverage of these systems are compared and contrasted. Some new photometry is also presented. The equivalent widths of the principal emission lines of H and He II differ by mor...
